Finally, we know what the one and only Beagle is smoking. The “Shrimp Blunt” is his new smoking delight, and it seems to hit just right. Beagle and Shane Heyl brought together the whole(!) Shake Junt family and put out another masterpiece full of hijinx, good times, movie skits(!), and some amazing skating. The perfectly fitting soundtrack makes it even better. Eat that shrimp!
Kader Sylla’s new video for adidas doesn’t really have a special name, not a lot of b-roll and is straight to the point. Very simple and beautifull edit by Tristan Warren. Jenkem Magazine has an Interview up with KADER that is worth a read.
We are not going to lie. Standing in line at the yesterday’s opening event for the new Berlin Supreme store was an absolute nightmare and it felt uncomfortable, but we don’t want to complain all too much. The good thing about it was that we have watched William Strobeck’s “MIND GOBLIN” video 11 and 1/2 times before we could enter the location, just to get sent out again by security 15 minutes later.
All jokes aside, the team went in and it is always good to see new people skating the more known spots in Berlin. Also we would like to say that we are proud of our good friends Augustin Giovannoni & Steffen Grap who showed them around town and made them look extra good. Tyshawn Jones tricks up the stairs at Frankfurter Tor are not human.
Much success to the Berlin staff member Johannes Schirrmeister, Jun Kummer, Yannick Zhou and Anton Jäger, who will be taking care of you in the store on Torstraße 74.
Kader has been putting out a lot of footage lately and that is a good thing for sure. But at the same time, the titles to these clips make you wonder if he feels like he is getting what he wants from the game?
Here it is DREAM2021MOVIEVILLE, a video that feels like an early Baker video mixed with A Happy Medium and a fair bit of Illegal Civ 2 put together into a 2021 blender.
We put out a very positive review of the trailer a while back and now get ready for the full thing. And no matter what you think, positive or negative it is hard to remain neutral about a project like this and that is worth something in itself.
Lately, there has been a multitude of videos from younger filmers that have had this: “The world is not alright!” type of feel. Videos like Naquan Rollings’ KILL BILL are good examples of that.
But this video makes you feel like we arrived in a post-apocalyptic world at times! Burning cars, scary run-ins with the homeless (possibly mentally ill), and a guy getting so heated that he went and chased some younger skaters with a gun! If you feel good about the direction we are going in then either you didn’t watch the same thing we just did or you enjoy seeing these sorts of things.
Anyway, it is powerful to see a skate-video translate and incorporate these things and weave them into the fabric in such a way that the whole thing leaves a strong impression on the viewer. Great work by Tristan Warren, we can’t wait for the full-length.
